Facebook Personal Profiles vs Brand Pages

I was working with an entrepreneur last week who was ready to launch her brand. She knew she needed a website and social media, but she wasn't sure where to start or how to set it all up. We sat down and did a deep dive into her strategy. We decided to focus most of our energy on Facebook because that is exactly where her target market lives.

I love the “aha” moments and in this season it was when we discussed Personal vs Brand Pages. A lot of people just name a personal account after their brand, but that actually limits your growth. We set up a proper Facebook Business Page instead. This unlocks professional features like customer reviews, unlimited followers, and detailed analytics that you just don't get on a private profile.

If you want to create a brand page like her, here are 5 Quick Wins for a crisp, professional…

Apple is Coming for Adobe Creative Subscriptions

The News: If you have been feeling the pain of that monthly Adobe Creative Cloud bill, pay attention. Apple just announced Apple Creator Studio, dropping on January 28. It is a new all-in-one subscription that bundles their pro-level video, audio, and design tools into one package.

The Price: It is $12.99 a month (or $129 a year). Compare that to Adobe’s "All Apps" plan which is usually over $600 a year

The Bundle: You get Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, and the newly acquired Pixelmator Pro. It covers video editing, audio production, and photo editing on both Mac and iPad.

The Strategy: If your business needs high-quality content but you don't need the hyper-niche tools in Adobe's suite, this could be a massive money saver next month.

Here is exactly what you get for your $12.99/month and how to actually use it in your business.

Final Cut Pro (Video)

It edits video using a "Magnetic Timeline" that snaps clips together automatically. Use it to chop up social content fast without worrying about leaving accidental black gaps.

Logic Pro (Audio)

It records and polishes audio with a "Mastering Assistant" that balances levels for you. Use it to make your podcast or voiceovers sound like they were recorded in a pro studio.

Pixelmator Pro (Images)

It replaces Photoshop with a cleaner interface built strictly for Mac. Use the "Remove Background" tool to instantly isolate products for your thumbnails or slide decks.

Motion

It builds fancy animated titles and graphics. Only open this if you want to get technical with your branding.

Compressor

It shrinks giant video files without ruining quality. Use it when a file is too big to email or upload.

MainStage

It manages live instruments for concert performances. Unless you are playing a stadium tour, you can safely ignore this.

Success Story: Stop paying Google Ads for the wrong customers.

I just wrapped up a Workshop with a limousine driver who was frustrated with his Google Ads. He set it up himself (which is great initiative!), but he was bleeding money and getting zero bookings.

When we looked at his dashboard, we found the culprit immediately. Under his "Search Terms," he was paying for clicks from people searching for "car repair" and "taxi services."

He runs a luxury limo service. He does not fix transmissions.

Here is how we stopped the bleeding in one session:

Emergency Budget Cut: We immediately lowered his daily budget to stop the waste while we fixed the foundation.

Negative Keywords: We added "repair," "mechanic," and "taxi" to his negative keyword list. Now, his ads will never show for those searches again. (Example below)

I’m a huge fan of Notion. One of my favorite features is the ability to create a table of information that can be easily viewed in various formats. For instance, I’ve uploaded Teach Me Tech logos to a board and can filter them to retrieve only the PNG versions or the circle-based ones using a tagging system. This makes it effortless to find precisely what I need from the extensive tables I’ve created.
