Beta Test Review: Google AI Emails

For my morning coffee, I had a freshly brewed briefing in my Gmail Inbox. I’m currently part of an exclusive Google Labs beta testing a new "AI Productivity Agent" called CC. It’s essentially a proactive digital helper that handles the heavy lifting of my schedule before I even start my day.

This morning's recap was my first taste of this tech. By connecting directly to my Gmail and Google Calendar, the AI mapped out my entire day in a single, crisp email.

How it’s Mapping My Day

The AI doesn't just list events; it uses deep reasoning to show me what’s actually important:

Top of Mind Intelligence: It looked at my unread threads and calendar to highlight "Top of mind" items, like onboarding a new member to the Teach Me Tech app.

Smart Time Estimates: It estimated how long these tasks might take. Like a quick "5m" task to verify a…

AI Use Case: 5 Star Reviews

I got a message recently from a user who had just finished one of our AI Skills Workshops. They were out at dinner and had an incredible experience. Naturally, they wanted to leave a review to support the business. But when they sat down to type it, they hit a wall. Every sentence they wrote felt clunky or just not "good enough" to describe how great the service was. Then the training kicked in.

They remembered what we covered about iterative prompting. They didn't try to write the final draft. They just opened Google Gemini and voice-typed the raw details. "The food was hot. The vibes were good. The owner said hello."

Gemini took that messy input and instantly rephrased it. It turned a few fragmented sentences into a glowing, professional paragraph that perfectly captured the mood. The user told me they felt like a genius. They didn't just learn…

This is awesome!!! I too use Gemini. Very user friendly

Gemini can now help you schedule time with others in Gmail.

Google announced a new Gemini-powered feature in Gmail called “Help me schedule”.

Here's how it works:

When you're responding to an email about finding a time to meet, Gmail detects the intent and shows a Help me schedule button in the toolbar. Select it, and Gemini suggests meeting times based on your Google Calendar and the context of the email. The time suggestions are added directly to your reply, so the other person can choose what works best.

Once they pick a time, a Calendar invite is automatically created for everyone. Learn more about this update on the Workspace Updates blog.

Question from a friend: AI for auto insurance?

I was recently asked if Gemini could help find cheaper car insurance. I use Google Gemini for everything but hadn’t tried that use case yet. Here is a recap of my testing.

The test:

I uploaded a PDF of my current policy that included my monthly price and policy details and asked a few follow-up questions.

My prompt:

This is my insurance. Please take a look at ways that I can save money per month on car insurance. Also, tell me other companies that might give me a good deal based on my current policy. I want to pay less per month.

Outcome:
