Beta Test Review: Google AI Emails
For my morning coffee, I had a freshly brewed briefing in my Gmail Inbox. I’m currently part of an exclusive Google Labs beta testing a new "AI Productivity Agent" called CC. It’s essentially a proactive digital helper that handles the heavy lifting of my schedule before I even start my day.
This morning's recap was my first taste of this tech. By connecting directly to my Gmail and Google Calendar, the AI mapped out my entire day in a single, crisp email.
How it’s Mapping My Day
The AI doesn't just list events; it uses deep reasoning to show me what’s actually important:
• Top of Mind Intelligence: It looked at my unread threads and calendar to highlight "Top of mind" items, like onboarding a new member to the Teach Me Tech app.
• Smart Time Estimates: It estimated how long these tasks might take. Like a quick "5m" task to verify a security alert so I can budget my energy.
• Proactive Reminders: It scanned my emails and flagged time-sensitive details I might have missed, like a ticket presale for insiders starting at 11:00 AM. Go Braves!
• Automated Action: It doesn't just tell me what's happening; it can even prepare email drafts and calendar links so I can take action directly from the brief and knock that action item out.
It feels like more than just a summary. It has AI elements that anticipate what I need before I even ask. It’s giving me a high-quality game plan so I can stay focused on the "crisp" work that matters. More to come as this beta test advances!
