Question from a friend: AI for auto insurance?
I was recently asked if Gemini could help find cheaper car insurance. I use Google Gemini for everything but hadn’t tried that use case yet. Here is a recap of my testing.
The test:
I uploaded a PDF of my current policy that included my monthly price and policy details and asked a few follow-up questions.
My prompt:
This is my insurance. Please take a look at ways that I can save money per month on car insurance. Also, tell me other companies that might give me a good deal based on my current policy. I want to pay less per month.
Outcome:
Gemini was able to share ways I could lower the insurance based on each of my selections. I don’t consider any of the tips to be mind-blowing, but it was helpful to read through and consider if I wanted to make adjustments. It gave me a list of insurance companies that it said were good options based on my age and location. It was not able to generate quotes or estimates for me. Overall, I’d say the test was successful because I was able to discover ways to lower my current plan if I’m willing to take risks and lose out on some benefits. I learned about a few companies I wouldn’t have thought to search for and I feel better equipped to find another insurance if I choose to
